Shut up fanboy. I'm not going out of my way to prove myself wrong about Push. If he's only ever varied his sound on a couple of obscure records, it doesn't count, because he's still made about a hundred other records that do sound the same and that's all non-fans will know. And, to be honest, I doubt anything he's done sounds very different to his trademark template.

Impressive discussion skills, your arguments are so valid and well-thought. "It doesn't count" because you say it doesn't...

Anyway, I'm not gonna deny that a ;ot of Mike-stuff sounds similar, but there's still something like a typical producer-style. And if you took the time to actually listen to some of those so-called obscure records, you'd find that there are more than just a few tracks that sound different from what he usually does. This really pisses me off you know, people ranting about "Everything he does sounds the same", while they in fact don't know half of what he's effectively done...

BTW, if I follow your way of thought, same things goes for Ferry, Tiesto, Armin,... heck, for almost any existing producer!?

No. My favourite producers altered their style significantly over their career. And the reason I single Push out among trance producers is he makes loads of records under loads of aliases, all sounding the same. Why not just stick to being MIKE, rather than Push/Plastic Boy/Solar Factor/whatever.

But, if we're talking trance, Ferry Corsten has changed his style from epic/anthem trance to electro-tinged trance, Tiesto has gone from uplifting to tech-trance, Mauro Picotto has covered almost every style of trance before going to full-time techno.

NuNRG (sooooo damn boring), Signum, BK (excellent producer though), PvD, Gabriel n Dresden, andain, Randy Katana, Cosmic Gate all are guilty of this but most are still damn good producers.

Yeah, look at the difference between Leftism and Rhythm & Stealth. The KLF went from producing trance to chill-out to stadium house in 5 years. The Prodigy haven't produced two tracks that sound the same, and FSOL have gone from old-skool rave, through ambient, into some techno and are now doing weird psychedelic chill-out stuff. I think I can safely say none of those artists can ever be accused of producing records that sound the same.

I agree on Push, most of his tracks do sound kinda the same, tho there are some positive examples. i love his remix of ayu - connected for example. also the armin vs. m.i.k.e. doesn't sound very push-y too
