I was just thinking that a beatcounter is more versatile as a beatcount guesstimator - you get the general idea of what BPM the track should be at and get the fine little details of matching afterwards.

That's why i trust the numark's beat counter over the pioneer. Either way, it's not a good idea to use bpm counters while mixing.

I've been known to use a tap counter to catalogue my records but I don't bother getting the exact BPM. Thats what your ear is for. I don't like even looking at the BPM counters on mixers while I'm using them it messes with my beatmatching.

They can't be as bad as the TTX1 BPM counters

We should all agree that bpm counters suck in general. They're only useful when sorting records.

I usually tap the BPM for effects but then again I don't spin any 4 to the floor styles its all brokenbeat.

although most breakbeat uses 4/4 time signature.

try not to use bpm counters for beatmatching & mixing. youd be faster marking the bpms on each of your records so you know the general direction to pitch them

Thats why I find it easier to tap in the tempo manually than to wait for the DJM to find the peaks and calculate the BPM.
