what about if they just supported iraq like iran is supporting the shiites pumping millions into iraq so they can gain leadership, dont you think that the US might indirectly be involved with a civil war in iraq (if the shiite take control), by providing aid + weapons + booze?

We're not nuking Iraq while we occupy the country, nor would we need to nuke them otherwise. We have enough conventional munitions to turn the country into a lunar landscape. The problem we've faced from the onset is how many civilian casualties do we need to inflict as collateral damage before ousting the insurgents.

Let's get one thing straight. As long as there are American troops OCCUPYING Iraq, there will be "insurgents". People don't like to be occupied. If 100,000 troops came into my country, started dropping bombs everywhere, stole my country's resources, and propped up a puppet regime, I would pick up a gun and start killing soldiers as well!!!

And yes, it is a puppet regime. Regardless of the election results, the new "leader" of Iraq will be chosen by the U.S.

So why don't you just tell us exactly what the insurgents want then. First, we pull all of our troops out of Iraq. Next a fantatical religious dictatorship takes hold. Lastly, we're back where we started. You obviously can't see our real purpose there. And most Iraqis don't think in the terms you've outlined. A small minority and certainly not a majority is fighting the US. If it were a majority, then there would be wholsale war on a much grander scale than what it is. What it is is guerilla warfare by a few.

I thought I made that pretty clear in my post. They want to kill American soldiers that are occupying their country and stealing their oil.

It's very clear what the US purpose in Iraq is - make money.

The majority of Iraqis believe that the American Occupation is not just. However, not everyone is willing to die for what they believe in. I would say that most of these guerilla's have lost so much from this occupation (friends, family, home, etc.) that they feel they must resort to killing those that brought this grief upon them. You would do the same.

Hasn't the Quebecois been trying to make you believe this type of "theory" for the last 15 years in order for Quebec to seceed from Canada?

I don't disagree with you...it was just funny to read the statement and the "location" of where it came... how odd

Ignorance is bliss isn't it? Your statement only strengthens the common belief that Americans don't know shit outside of their own borders

Yup...just like it tells me that one post by a person is enough for you to judge what I know and don't know...and that the fact you can't take a joke...regardless of if I was trying to be politically correct, accurate or not. But since you take it so seriously and are inept to "laugh"...I'm glad I strengthened your little view about "us".

I spend just as much time north of the border as I do at home. I was also raised in a border town...So, if you wish to actually find out how narrow minded your stereo-typical views are of us south of the border, I'd be happy to show you.....wait, wait...but I'm making this assumption about your views only on one statement you made...yeah I'd be eating my own words above if I actually based my opinion about you and canucks only on one statement...shame on me.

In reality though, I know more about canada than many of us down here....and probably some of the people up there (Granted my view is from a BC/ALTA standpoint and the media outlets on this side are known to have their own twist on what goes on out east/ottawa....and it has now been 6 years since I've been to PQ and the Maratimes...hmm)...but then...I'd hate to burst your bubble on my "ignorance" factor.

Alas...though...touche...since it's the intraweb and my statement can be taken as one fell swoop of my 'opinion'/thoughts on a subject....yes it can make me/us look like what most of the outside world would like to believe. I will give you that. So, have fun running with my statement, because I'd hate to actually think that it's really, to put it simple, having to do with cultural equalities (and differences) and being able to be sovereign under the canadian constitution or be an independent nation...I don't remember all the 'mumbo-jumbo' right now...but 6 years ago...and probably now, the folks out there were very passionate about the reasons and did their best to convey that message to us, without offending someone that might disagree...either way it just sounded better to grab guns and start shooting people....

Thanks for hatin'

I am just thinking what the hell does Iran have to do with anything?

No Iranian has murdered an American.
The U.S. has not come under attack by Iran.
Iran has not even threatened to attack the U.S.
Iran has no ties with Al-Qaeda.
They have agreed to stop their nucleur program. Which, personally, I don't think they should have seeing America's tendency for trigger happy pre-emptive strikes.

Oh wait, we could have said the same about Iraq .
