Thanks for your feedback, but I do think you're being a tad unfair.

I wasn't really trying to do anything 'new' with the song, I just thought I'd keep everything the same way. And apologies for the software sounding synths, but that is unfortunately what happens when you make a synth with software.
Also - as I am only an amateur producer, producing for fun, my songs are going to be amateur sounding

you don't need hardware to get rid of the software sound, i suppose i should have said preset-ish. its a very easy trap to fall into with hardware too

I can't speak from the other side of the story here, as someone whos relatively shit too, but a remix shouldn't sound exactly the same, which is why I think Luke's correct to be a bit harsh. Even if you're only amateur & messing with tunes, there's got to be a point where you do something 'new' with it, as many people will compare it to the original and come to the same conclusion he has, and it's pretty much the one I'd give too. Keep practising sure, but don't take offense to anything that needs to be said, i'd rather see him being cruel than shouting omg tune at it cos that'd do you no good at all

Ok cheers guys I get your points.

However I can tell you that if I tried to do something 'new' with Out of The Blue I would have made a real pigs arse of it!

Sounds like an oldschool remix. Actually sounds more like edit of the original
-Lower the volume of that reversed clap and increase the volume of the clap.
-The strings don't sound natural.
-None mentioned a thing about the kick, but i must say it sounds pretty good to me.
-I know how to make that lead on FL, it's pretty simple.

Anyway don't let this comments lower your spirit, keep producing

I like that sliding synth in the intro.

I think your break could use more effects. Give it more of a full feel.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to say that it sounds very preset-ish as well, not to mention I haven't even heard the original, and I can tell that this brings nothing new to the table. It sounds like the setup for every System F song that I've heard. I realize you weren't going for anything new, but I can't really hear anything blatantly creative.
