Yes, I do it this way. Loads of CD-r's indeed, but you don't have to worry about scratches

I have a weird system to organize my cds...

There's different categories I've made to organize what I'm listening to more ATM I burn my cds. I have the following categories:

1. Essential Mix: mostly trance and some prog trance. 17 CDs (Summer 2003).
2. Intensive Tune Sessions: mostly prog house and prog trance and some trance. 12 CDs (Fall 2003).
3. Progressive Thinking: mostly prog house and prog trance. 12 CDs (Fall 2003).
4. Vinyl Sessions: mostly trance and some prog. 16 CDs (Winter/Spring 2004).
5. Vertigo: mostly prog trance, some trance and prog house. 22CDs (Summer/Fall 2004).
6. Forward: mostly prog trance, some prog house, acid house and minimalist stuff. 31 CDs (Fall/Winter 2004).

The CDs usually have between 8 and 10 tracks on them. The tracks increase in intensity as the cd progresses. For instance, the first track would be something like breakbeat, while the last track would be hard trance or something of that sort. Track no.3 is always the standout track of the cd regardless of genre.

Also, I always put tracks and their remixes together.

I organize it by CD

Mixable #1...#2. etc. im up to #202 now. 2 coppies. so that way if i want to play a song on the same CD i have it, and a backup.

One has a printed off tracklisting on paper, the other has it stuck on via a sticker on the cd.

I then write down every song in a little 100 page book, with the song, and location of it. that Way if im looking for one I just go alphabetically (ie look under A and then look for the specific title and track (done chronologically)).

I also have the style of the music put beside the song if im looking for styles.

Also, i put notes whethere I bought the MP3, or got it from the producer themselves what way when playing out it is all legit

Awesome. Thanks for the suggestions. I decided that I will burn CDs with multiple tracks and make 2 copies of each CD. I also have a CD labeler so I can put the tracklist on a label and stick it to the CD. So far I have 2 CDs, time to buy some more tracks.

Be sure to buy really thin label stickers...cds won't get stuck or anything but just in case...Making double copies is a smart option. If you get to the point where it gets too expensive to make 2 copies, just think of which tracks would me mixable after others and put them on separate cds.
