And what really saddens me is that we've totally lost the good old tradition from the war to get kalashnikovs and anti-aircraft guns and start shooting in the air when the new year comes...now everybody is using those boring fireworks. I mean, they can't even kill you. Where's the fun in that?

What's that compared to having 10-20 people dead from grenades and bullets gone astray some 10 years ago? And my neighbour apparently no longer has that nice little howitzer that he had always brought out to his balcony for new year's eve up until a few years ago...
