when are these debates going to end?
Fact: Numarks are NOT Technics. They are different.
Fact: People are entitled to their own opinion.
Fact: search button is your friend.
End of story.

Don't knock the 150s, they use the OEM motor that many other high end decks use, its a very good motor, and has been prooving itself for some time now, as for those Geminis your waiting for, I posted them not to long back, the high end one seems to have a good powerful motor, but it also has a very high pricetag, it might be worth it though, I think Gemini are changing round now and are gonna do things right, and not discontinue the products they put out that were actually good (UMX mixers and PT series decks).
Oh yea, Gemini have also released a new version of the UMX, under a new make name called...tada UMX, it can be found here. www.umxdj.com

Durability and Performance are very alike words. I think you mean that just because they have proven durability for 25+ years doesn't mean that they have the best and newest features (most of which don't belong on a turntable). A turntable should be something simple that works, and has basic features like pitch control and possibly a pitch lock button. I don't see why a BPM counter needs to be on a turntable, why it needs to have a fancy LCD display, or +/- 50% in pitch.
If you want something that will last through time, then I'd say get the Technics. I'm not claiming that I know everything about every turntable, I'm just replying to the thread question of "Tech 1200 or Numark TTX" with my opinion. I've tried both, and I've had DJ friends who have had both. One has been DJing for 15 years, and his original Technics have been with him that whole time. The other had a TTX and it broke down in less than a year.
Personally, I'd rather put an extra $80-100 into it, get the Technics SL-1210M5G's that I know will last, rather than getting something slightly cheaper with more features that I'll never use, and then have to replace it in a couple years when it goes bad.
That's my opinion. Whether you follow my suggestions or not, I hope you get a turntable that works for you and you have fun spinning .
