Yup... that means she was conceived when her mother was 13-14 years old. There's a catch.. .the average life expectancy there was 28-30 years. Which means her mother had lived 1/2 of her life by then. Again, the nature has its own laws. The society chooses how it wants to control their sexual urges by using religion, laws, and other measures.

Of course, no father would want to know that his little girl is having sex at any age, let alone 14 - but that has very deep Froydean explanation that I'm not willing to wonder off into at this point. And of course, no one wants to see his 16 year old precious princess dating a 30 year old... (1) Though in eastern europe that seems to be OK (sometimes) - depending on various (*cough* sugar daddy *cough*) factors.

Without warranting a switch to the political discussion section, I just want to add that there is nothing you said that I would disagree with. I merely mentioned the double standard to sort of put things into perspective for the one dimensional analysts out there - though I must concede my initial reaction was once of reverence to the kid as well.

I would actually like to see a picture of that kid just to see how young he looks. Age is increasingly becoming a number these days; what with an increasingly taller population (15 year old Freddy Adu could easily pass for around 20) so I am willing to accept that he played her the whole time and she may be more of a victim (just as a smutty 15 year old girl may seduce an older man; never did read Lolita btw but thats because I have watched both the movies- the Adrian Lyne version was quite audacious especially since I think Dominique Swain was in fact 16 or so at the time).
