I saw a dj play a set sitting down earlier the year. I thought it was a joke. It looks absolutely terrible. It's insulting when a dj doesn't even have enough enthusiasm to bother standing up.

I cant dance, talk to people or do anything decent when sitting- all of which i do when working.
Its lazy- how are you supposed to feel and portray energy when looking like you are having a dump?
Same with scowling or corssing your arms (unless you are cold) - its negative body language and doesnt come across very well

I have never, well i've never even spun a set of decks either, i was only wondering what you lads did. I've seen the odd chair in pictures, only the odd one granted but was just curious.

Obviously infront of a crowd it isn't a good visual for the crowd to have but if at home for lets say 5 hrs of playing plus.. I suppose you just take a break so

Anywho cheers again for the input..

nelly

I sit on a stool sometimes at home, because I'm tired. I would never do it while performing though.

I stand, but I keep a chair nearby for when my legs/back get tired.

now that i've just had my leg put in plaster for 6 weeks, i'll go with the sitting option for a while. for those of you who might need to get off your feet but still play, i recommend a gym ball, that way you can still bounce along to the beat

I always stand and I always wear tennis shoes. I think it helps take some of the stress off my back and feet.

100% agree!!! the height of the tt's makes all the difference.

i remember in the first week of getting my tt's, even with all my enthusiasum i was uncomfortable after only about an hour. on another occasion with a proper hieght i could just keep going for hours on end!!!...i'll sit at home sometimes, but no one who hopes for a reputation would ever do that for an event.

Hmm...just dont sit in your comp chair all day (In winter) ... I can't stand long because I sit all day in school & then come home and sit on the computer. I need to get back to the gym & work on my back and neck. Winter is shit for my muscles

In the summer i'm active
