Re: Re: Re: Banning certain type of TA's
Twilogoddess, on several occasions I have not liked your posts.
For example on one post I remember you said "That's bullshit, I work for Mute Records" and in another you said "I know my shit". With that attitude it's not wonder a lot of people don't like you.

That track is an Ian Masterson and Jake Williams production and may have crossed over to the mainstream and have been overplayed but is certainally not cheese so please get your facts straight.

I just want to say that i think there is NO problem with the forums... yes, there are a "handful" of flamers, but nothing that is really "hampering" my viewing the site....
I don't know if you guys subscribe to any other forums on the internet, but EVERY forums has a few undesireables who like to cause trouble.... its like a fact of nature, so deal with it.
If some putz starts a thread called "fuck you", then just don't read it! How does that ruin your day? How does that make you think "man, these forums are going to shit and i'm never posting on here again!"????/ doesn't make sense to me. There's always going to be flamers, there's always going to be losers. Just gotta learn to ignore them or take it with a grain of salt.
Second, if anyone's had problems with Twilogoddess in the past, its me. Since day 1 that i signed up, i've been locked up with her in debate constantly (until recently)..... And i don't think she's a child at all. Of all the arguements i've had, she's always had a good arguement to put forth (although oftentimes its the exact same arguement), but she doesn't flame unless instigated.... So enough of pointing fingers people. Sure, sometimes she gets upset and "bursts" every once in awhile, but who doesn't? If enough buttons get pushed, anyone can blow up.
I personally don't think there's a problem. No site is going to be perfect. I would not come here if there were no debates and flamers... kinda adds personality to these forums. And unfortunately, there's ALWAYS going to be arguements - its a fact of life. Everyone has different opinions, and in some cases that will create mud-slinging.
I think the real problem is in how people express their opinions...... for example recently (and i won't mention names), we had a thread comparing two items, and after someone gave their opinion on something, another person called them "stupid" and told them to "think before they post"........ on a thread asking one's OPINION!!!! this is the kind of stuff we have to control, and this involved two veterans, not newbies!
So i say stop blaming newbies, time to start looking at maybe our OWN attitudes and HOW WE EXPRESS OUR OPINIONS!
peace

as far as twilogoddess's threads go, someone posted this as an example of something she has said which is "flaming" or trying to stir things up:
| quote: | | I've just saw tiesto and he wasn't playing new tunes |
i'm wondering if any of you really think that this is a flame.
this is an opinion on a dj. just because you post on "Tranceaddict.com" does not mean you need to dj worship every dj who fits in that category.
i remember a thread also where twilogoddess discussed paul oakenfold that some of you spoke of.. and i seriously don't consider it a flame thread either. she talked about how she did not like seeing him in person, and i agree, 100%. i think he sucks ass live. there, i said it. does that mean i am flaming and deserve the same kind of response or am immature or "not an adult"? hell no. it means i have an opinion that i am entitled to, and just because it doesn't fit with everyone else's opinion on the board, does not mean i am part of the trouble.
maybe i just haven't seen enough of her threads, but as far as i can tell, this is just a girl who has the balls to go against the grain and give an opinion on things (certain djs)... and now gets labeled as part of the problem. thats fucked up, imo. if i go on a board for rpgs and post about how i think one sucked, i shouldn't get chastised for that, just like talking about thinking one dj sucked on here.
and one other thing...
ive been lurking on this board for probably over a year before i even registered, and this board has NO PROBLEMS WITH FLAMING compared to some of the other boards i am a part of. ive seen some flaming activity here, but trust me. i could list some sites that have far worse times dealing with things like this.

Sothis,
point taken, but i don't think thats what the problem is. I've posted many times in threads on TA that i don't like PvD. And i don't get flamed at all. I get people asking me why, etc... but no flames. BECAUSE its all in how you say it. When i don't like something, i post "so-and-so really doesn't do it for me." or "i don't enjoy so-and-so's track selection." This is a soft way of telling people you don't like something, and avoids flame wars.
Others on this site, when they don't like something, will say "so-and-so is a piece of shit!" or "so-and-so SUCKS! I can't believe i totally WASTED $40 to go see them.... biggest WASTE of 2 hours of my life." I can understand these things, but being so animated and hostile about it is what causes the flame wars. There are people who don't even LIKE the so-and-so DJ who come in to defend because of such a bad attitude.
This is what i think some people are talking about when referring to Twilogoddesses' attitude.
Basically, if we just put forth a good arguement as to why we don't like someone, and refrain from calling the DJ a "shit" DJ, we can prevent a LOT of those old flame wars (especially the ones that come out of the Oakey vs. Tiesto vs. PvD debates....)
Oh....and Blik, LoL

I never posted "I just saw Tiesto, he wasn't playing new tunes" It was more like "I saw Tiesto this past sat, he played old tunes, I trainspotted his entire set...I still had a great time regardless" |
"arrogant pompass asshole" hahaha, simply pathetic. You're the most arrogant fucking bitch I've ever come across and what's worse you think you're so fucking smart.

You behave like a child and a sad one at that. If somebody criticises you, you revert to insults like in this thread and in nearly every pointless Oakenfold arguement. It's time you GET A GRIP as you said to me, quit posting garbage on these forums, stop crying if people criticise you. You are one of the most childish people on this forum and this thread is such a beautiful example of irony. I've showed your attitude to several people on MSN and ICQ and they all agree with me.
I do a lot for people on these forums, I spend a lot of time uploading tunes for people on a 28.8 connection and I really like the design of these forums but it's people like you who really fuck these forums up and you've been doing it for as long I've been here. If I owned s a forum with you in it, you would have been kicked off loong ago. Your posts are worse than DJ James M. I really hate people who think they're better than everyone else and you're one of them. Bitch at me as much you want, I don't care. In fact go on, humour me with more insults! I'm waiting lol!
