The magnets in your turntable are part of the motor (electromagnets, i.e. only on while ac current is flowing.... or on) so unless your planning on attempting to leave them on the platter while the platter is going and somehow making them really close to the magnets it'll be cool.

Also about leaving decks next to your speakers(static electromagnetic due to the magnets in them, not alternating which is required to induce currents in wires i.e. inteferance)/cell phones (do create interference but will fuck with the cart (low voltage) way before the relatively high voltage motor magnets).

I'm not too sure about decks being shielded in any special way though aprt from genral design princibles.

The magnets in your headphones are insignificant anyways. We're not talking hig-powered electromagnets here...

That's really true. I can put both my hd280 and rp-dj1200 against my crt monitor w/ very little distortion w/ the 280 and almost none w/ the technics.

Like i've said before and i'll say it again. The platter is magnetically shielded so that won't hurt anything, just read the earlier posts

It will probably damage your headphones about as much as it will damage your records. the best solution would be to keep your headphones and records off the turntables. no need causing damage to your records by playing them.
