Re: Comparable in some aspects...

nothing beats Guv, but right now, if you want good trance, then you're forced to surround yourself with, well, do I even need to say... so if Pulse if offering comparable music with a better crowd, then it's better than Guv in one aspect.. sure, the sound system, laser show etc can't be topped, but the crowd is one weakness Guv has always had... |
Well I know that Fridays and Sundays at PULSE basically have a whole shitload of people who come to THE GUVERNMENT on Saturdays but in all fairness I don't know what kind of crowd PULSE will have on a Saturday or where it will be coming from. So crowd wise its a wash as THE GUV and PULSE have a very simular crowd overall although I would still give the nod to GUV crowd wise overall.
Music wise nothing compares to THE GUVERNMENT because GUV has Mark Oliver who is easily the best DJ in Toronto and arguably the best in Canada as well and the international DJ's are always top nothch as well. To my understanding THE GUVERNMENT is the most financially successful club in the city while PULSE is actually losing money from all that I am hearing so if making money is one judger of a clubs success then THE GUV wins out in that aspect as well.
IS PULSE a good venue? YES but it is silly to start making comparisions between PULSE and THE GUVERNMENT because there is no comparision and THE GUVERNMENT will win every time
Good luck on the Saturday nights though

OBVIOUSLY Guv is the most financially successful, and OBVIOUSLY Mark Oliver is a god and THE most underrated DJ on the planet (if you disagree, you on "cheap crack"), and OBVIOUSLY you're not going to get the same type of experience from Pulse that you would from GUV, but you can't just judge a club based on it's money making ability alone, especially NOT when you look at how long Guv has been around, and look at the people and the amount of money that has been dumped into getting Guv the reputation is NOW deserves... Also, every other club is playing at a disadvantage, you think it's merely a coincidence that every trance god plays basically only at Guv.. Charles wouldn't approve of them playing anywhere else... Pulse simply see's an opportunity to offer trance to trance lovers on a night where Guv is currently the only option.
Sure, you'll see some familiar faces at Pulse that you'd see at Guv on a saturday, but you'll also see all those people who love trance but avoid Guv because of the crowd. You can't tell me you don't know anyone like that, who absolutely love the music, but the crowd kills their vibe. THERE WILL BE TONS OF HONNIES as well, honnies that you'll actually be able to hold a conversation with...
I didn't say BETTER music, I said COMPARABLE, meaning content (good progressive/trance music). If you want trance really at all on Saturdays, Guv is really you're only option. Of course Mark has his hands on the most upfront stuff, but good quality music is still good quality music...
I'm disappointed that someone who enjoys Guv so much won't come out to support Pulse, it's going to be a nice change!!!!
Now I sound like a promoter!!!
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND ALL!!!

I love the Guv, but the crowd can get a bit sketchy at times... The Guv is by far my favourite club on the planet... I've never been to Pulse, I'm glad to hear it's a nice venue, the pictures of the place looks amazing!!!!
