Just got home. (at 4:46 AM).

Show was in no way trance---but...

Gay, straight, bi, ambigous, a- sexual---didn't matter--everyone was getting down, dirty & sweaty on the dance floor when DJ Dan & Glaude played. If I was DEAD & they wheeled my coffin by this show, my toes would have started twitching--the beat was that good.

My only peeve (& I try to abide by "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say it) I MOTHER-FING HATE the MC, KAOS. If I only heard once "Mother-Fing ATX, make some Mother Fing Noise in the Mother Fing HOUSE!" it would be already too much. I wanted to rip the mike out of his hands & fling it the Mother-F far away. I go to hear the music, not you calling me swear words!

Anyway, Glaude is a god, & DJ Dan can "do it to me baby, take your time do it right, you can do me baby, do me tonight". He also threw in "call me" & "just can't get enough". Glaude was scratching with his HEAD.

I didn't get to go see Glaude in Atown cause my friend's baby's momma tripped out on him and he had to cancel so I caught a ride with the DCS julios to support the Eternal weekly.

his mc'ing was sooooo phukin bad that myself, my nephew, and my friend had to leave. Just ruined the whole vibe of a party. its kool every one in a LONG while to get on the mic and hype up the crowd, BUT what he did was just trash. plain and simple.

I really cannot overstate how ANNOYED I was at Kaos talking over the music. I'd rather have a platoon of poi-spinning glowstickers than him. With the glowstickers, I can go to another part of the club or shut my eyes & groove to the music.

I tried stuffing more wads of tissue in my ears just to block Kaos out.

More notes on the show:

Sidekicks has a good sized main room (30(?) feet wide by 20 feet deep), with 5 foot high risers against the back. The DJ booth is perched high up on a ledge. Up behind the DJ is a VIP balcony. I thought I saw Johny Dove up there, & saw DJ Alchemy taking photos.

The sound system was decent, but not as good as Eternal.

Bar service was quick (never waited more than 2 minutes for a drink) & cheap ($5.25/Red Bull & Absolut). The bar staff is topless. Topless guys, that is. (some of the lesbians were stripping down to their bras later in the night--looked cool under the black lights).

The crowd was at capacity, but I never felt smooshed. People were generally respectful with how much room they had--when the crowd thinned out around 3 AM, people started dancing bigger.

Definitely check out Glaude or DJ Dan if you get a chance, though they were spinning house, with no trance. Dave, any news on dates/times when Glaude is coming to San Antonio?

Glaude laid his head down on the record. Had to be seen to be believed. Gimmicky, but still jaw-dropping.
