that might work... not really familiar on how those work, though.

The software along with the cables costs $60.00. I think I'm better off burning some CDs. But some videos won't fit. Oh well.

Thanks for the help.

i had the same problem recently. depending how much you want to transfer, i think the cheapest way, without burining on to discs or copying on to floppies, is to have a direct cable connection. the cables are about 12 or so (or better yet try to borrow one) and its pretty fast. windows has a wizard to help you, but check out the these links---->

Windows Networking: Direct Cable Connection

Tech Support Guy: Internet and Networking

We'll need to know what kind of internet connection you have, disk drives (CD, Floppy, DVD, Zip), type of files you'll be transfering, and...?

There are programs available that will chop the files up into numerous seperate files then you can transfer those a few at a time and recombine them. If both computers have an ethernet card you can get a special cable to connect them that way or even modify a currently owned ethernet cable.

The specifics about the old compuer I already listed. It comes with a CD-Burner, Floppy drive, external zip drive. The old computer does not have an ethernet card.

The laptop comes with pretty much everything. I think there was even some porn in it, gift from Fry's to the buyer I guess.

Thanks for the help. I didn't give up. I'm still looking for some info.

The cable has to be a male/male.Staples Link

You can get them cheaper tho in many places in LA. Its easy. Even i did it, and i couldn't point out a switch-box if my life depended on it.

Use a com port connection if available. Then setup a connection via the two.

Just buy a PCI ethernet card for the computer if there's an open slot on the motherboard. They are only $10-15.
