another one that I really like (that costs money though so it might not be an option for you) is the Sonalksis SV-315 Stereo Compressor. I'm suprised that nobody's mentioned it yet tbh.

It has a very transparent sound and the possibility to squash some really nice things out of it

anyway..i dunno if Waves C4 is suitable for kick/hihat compression. It's awesome for mastering no doubt, but in that particular case I think a more simple compressor would do a good job as well.
I'm thinking of the TC Natives one in particular here
