but after playing on the 600 for so long, i need something new to play with, there's only so much you can do with on board effects

and that plus the efx-1000? i'd have to sell all my belongings to be able to afford that

Apparently the Isolator knobs are made because of the EFX-1000.
The isolator knobs totally kills that EQ, a function that the EFX-500
has but the EFX-1000 does not have so that you will have to buy the DJM-1000. Clever.

It's just too over the top in shit. The more i look at it the more i hate it. I really don't like it's eqs, i perfer a full cut isolator eq like on the empath, also im not down w/ all the effects i'll never use. If it had something like a precision vcf filter then i would like it. I also hate it more if the price starts at the $2500 range. For that cash i could buy a rotary xone: 92 and still have $$$ for some vinyl.

It's probably me, but i never really fell in love with pioneer dj equipment for some reason, even when the cdj-1000 first came out, my friends were excited, but i really didn't give a crap about it...

whoa there buddy,

you might not like the pioneer range of mixers, but it wont deny the fact that when you play out at a local club 9 times out of 10 it will be the djm series.

they are really one of the most industry standard mixers out here in the US.

the cdj 1000 mk2 is the best investment i have made thus far-- that is second to buying my turntables! they are a god send and it has opened up my mind in terms of being alot more creative with my sets. now i use 3 sources in the mix, i got music thats constantly being looped or what not.

just to clarify i am in no way a fan of the pioneer line of mixers, i am currently in love with my a+h xone 62.

i am curious as to how this new flagship pioneer model will sound.

its probably best to reserve judgement until its actually out and you can try it. until then it really isnt worth speculating as to whether this thing will be great or shit or anywhere in between. what i can say is, i never liked the plastiky rotaries on the djm500. the rotaries on the 1000 look very similar to the ones on my virus b - hopefully will be rubber coated too - those are amazing fun to twiddle and if the mechanics of the rotary system allow for the kind of expressiveness i can get on my virus, whilst mixing records then...wow. im glad they ditched the FX unit which i felt was pretty useless on a machine costing that much. the effects were poor even when stacked up against free VSTi effects, and all the freebie softies were more controllable.

you people know that the control surface is tilted (very much like the access virus indigo synth)? i only saw it yesterday when i saw a pic of it side on and at the back. the dimensions are huge. its 19 inchs across (including rack ears), 14 inchs in width and at the back its 7 inchs deep. this. thing. is. gigantic. on the upside, i could rack it with the rest of my studio gear on my 12u studio rack. i imagine it would be rather nice too. on the downside, i couldnt afford in the next 5 years and they havent even published the RRP yet. its gonna be expensive. forgone conclusion.

That's cool that the mixer is slanted in an downward angle.
I think that'll come in handy.
