I don't spend a whole lot of money doing this. It does happen once in a while but it's only really to get things that I haven't been able to get on vinyl.

However with regards to MP3s, if I could get the WAV instead I would as I have to cringe everytime I play an MP3. Maybe I just have sensitive ears but the sound is so obviously different. However as Dirk.W said, let's not turn this into a vinyl vs Digital thread. If you want to know the technical side of things I suggest you read through the thread that is designated for that.

Nem

I probably spend around $60 USD a month, but sometimes more/less depending on what's released.

And Nemesis, thanks for keeping the Vinyl v. Digital arguement in perspective, it's obvious there are no winners in a Vinyl v. Digital thread

Cheers,

RJT

I've been buying a small amount of digital downloads only for a few months but still prefer CDs because I want to have a nice WAV file for backup. Only bought from one download place so far.

I load the MP3s onto my laptop and take it to house parties. I've also hooked up to bigger sound systems in a couple of clubs and compared WAV files and quality MP3s and they sound the same to me. Other factors such as the condition of the the audio system, echoes, and crowd noise can be more important in controlling the quality of the sound.

Those of you who want, you can get the original WAVs on CDR from beatport, at no extra cost besides shipping.

but beware the shipping if you're not in north america. I looked at that option, $7 for the tracks, US$55 for the shipping to australia.
