would probably be better to use the edge of the record to slow it down. thats what i did when i had TTXs

i also recommend riding the pitch (loadz of TAs recommended this to me when i switched to technics - havnt looked back since!)

in theory it should be easier on the TTXs due to the digital display - it means u can return the pitch slider to its original point accurately!

Nothing can compare to the torque of the TTX1. The digital display also features a BPM meter if you think you need one of those. Also, as other people have mentioned the interchangeable tonearms (both included) are a really nice feature. THe blue lights are also another cool bonus.

This is easily one of the best turntables on the market right now. If you dont want to bust out the cash just go with a TT200 or TT500 where the only difference is slightly less torque and do not include a digital display.

If you are a pitch rider like myself then you may find the adjustment a bit of nightmare as the pitch doesn't feel the same as a tech. Other than that they are pretty solid.

The display, however, is digital, so if you find that distracting you may want to bring an index card just to rip it and cover the displays with them.

You can darken the display so it doesn't show, no need for cardboard
Also it's possible to set the pitch at 8 % instead of 10 to make it more like a technic's. Sorry I can't remember the button combo to do this off the top of my head, as I'm currently waiting for my 2nd pair to arrive from canada (had to sell the first :mad. Which is taking FAR to long to arrive :/

TTX1 - best decks I've ever used =)

Never thought of that with changing the contrast, now i feel a little dumb. To change the pitch to 8%, just hold down the pitch button for a few seconds and it will say "8" on the display, and then after that no number will appear near the pitch setting like it normally would(10, 20, or 50). I always use the 8% setting, I never have any reason to go out of it.

Also, has anyone noticed that the TTX-1 pictured in those pictures has the pitch set to some number between 0 and 50 but the display reads "+50.0"?
