for 2.8 grand they can take a running jump though. the alesis fusion 6HD is gonna cost half that and i was far more impressed with the video demo for that.

I paid 2250 USD for my TI keyboard.

EDIT: Just saw the video. The seamlessness of switching patches is really nice. And the ability to switch patches while having the old patch still playing will be very useful in a live PA. Glad I made the right decision to buy this as my first hardware synth.

oh dont get me wrong. it did indeed sound fat. but it to the point where it wasnt really expressive of anything else. it was just stupidly fat. as for the price. i have a virus b already and from those demos i didnt feel as if the extras were worth upgrading if you already have a virus. i think that it very much continues the 'virus' sound. you know. whereas if i were going to spend that much money on a synth i would feel that i already have a nice slice of the 'virus' sound. now i want something a bit different. hence the alesis fusion. seriously, watch the NAMM video for it. wow. the licensed acoustic and electric pianos sounded in a word. amazing. the modelled flute didnt sound like a modelled flute but it sounded awesome.

^^^ Keep in mind that at this time the OS is still in Beta version, all the patches are from Virus C and none of that has been optimized yet to take full advantage of what's under the hood.

Expect the first batch of virus TIs to have problems galore - as the HW and OS have been completely re-designed. The features that virus promissed may be as far as 1 year away from being usable and/or functional. Even though mine is on a waiting list, I may cancel the order as I expect bunch of people dump this baby 3 months after buying it because it either doesn't fully work, not really distinguishable from virus C yet and because it is unstable. If you need any proof - all viruses starting with A had some kind of mysterious problem when it first came out. While it is a great product, the OS has always been very Microsoft-ey - leaving room for improvement and stability.

I dunno, paying $2,300 to beta-test this synth is becomming less and less atractive, even with all the bells and whistles. I might just buy it to try it and sell it if it don't meet my expectations. Probably won't loose much moolah.

Hahahaha, that's funny! Well, I saw the vid and it didn't tickle me. So the money I was going to spend on it will go for a new turbo for my Supra and bigger injectors, LOL.

Dunno, don't think you can get too much more of an impressive, raw sound without doing ANYTHING clever with effects. This thing is fat as fuck and that ultrasaw sounds like it will be fucking mean for basslines.

The TI still has the same old virus personality, but with more balls and flexibility. It's quiet impressive if you ask me... If you think about it, yeah, it's not gonna scream anything special musically from the demo, because the access rep was just flipping through some presets and messing around with some parameters in real time. However, this synth is very versatile and offers lots of flexibility... giving unlimited possibilities, especially with the wavetable synthesis. Combine this synth with the right sound design concepts and you should be able to get some amazing results. I don't believe this is a synth for those ppl looking to use presets, but more for those inclined to creating their own custom patches; that is the best way to get your moneys worth.
The only thing I raelly don't like is the whole audio over USB and no midi I/O... I disagree with this as USB is not standardized and can be unstable in so many aspects, depending on the system.

Yeah, it was funny when he opened his mouth kinda when playing the bassline and was bobbing his head, haha. The only part that really tickled me is when he opened the release and played those notes to show it wouldn't cut...it sounded sooo good I listened to that part many many times.
