Thanks for you help, guys. Now can anyone recommend some good quality speakers that I can use in my room. I'm pretty much set on buying a pair of Pioneer cdj-100s and a DJM-300 mixer.

Also, I know that there's a sticky for headphones, but I didn't know if it would make a difference for my particular setup that I'm wanting. (I'm pretty sure it doesn't)

nice choice in your setup. i went cheap with my first setup and bought a behringer djx700 mixer. needless to say it turned out to be a piece of crap. i have a djm600 now and absolutely love it. i'm in the process of purchasing a pair of cdj800s. my problem is that i have to sneak them in the house when my wife isn't looking..as far as speakers go, you can use anything that is powered..ie computer setups. I would recommend an altec lansing 2.1 setup with rca connections. you don't need a computer and you will have 2 speakers and a sub. if I can find a model number I'll pm you.

here are two powered speaker setups that I would recommend. I am assuming that you need something economical:

1)LOGISYS SP6006CL 2.1 Multimedia Clear w/ BLUE LED Speaker System -RETAIL 57.99 - Subwoofer made out of glass and has internal LEDs that glow blue...very trippy

2)Creative Inspire T3000 2.1 Speakers -RETAIL 44.00 - Wired remote can be placed between mixer and cd player for easy access. Not as wicked looking as the logisys, but cheaper

Both systems were priced on www.newegg.com. Many of my friends order exclusively from them. I would recommend them.

I dunno about the headphone sticky thread. A majority of the latest posts in that thread seem a bit dated. Am I right on this, or is this stuff still accurate and nothing else has come out?

I have the sony MDR700 headphones. I love them. I've heard they have problems, but I've heard that about every pair of headphones. Sometimes I really wonder what people are doing to their equipment. As far as Ebay goes, I've never had a bad experience and have found some great stuff at very good deals.

Yea, I'm finding those Sony MDR-V700DJ headphones still factory-sealed on Ebay for $5. Go on Sony's website and see the same model headphones retailing for $150!

Well I'm kinda in the same situation as CGRumler.
I'm a beginning DJ and I want to buy 2 turntables but I don't want to spend more than 450 euro. I already have a mixer (Behringer DX 626, it's not fantastic but it works and I always can buy a new one later) sow I only need 2 turntables. One with good functions and quality so I can put my creativity to the test, but not TOO expensive.
So have you guys got some good advice for me?
