i didnt compare them in terms of their musical similarities, thought u'd understand that.

i compare them because i think all those genres are useless.

i figured as much, but some people nevertheless may mistake hardstyle with hardcore..and so i posted to prevent misconception..

iinteresting...i didn't think you could classify Prodigy as Happy Hardcore. I thought happy hardcore was the trade mark high bpm cheese with high pitch vocals thats always blasintg outisde video game arcades over here.

You're telling me that Prodigy - Outta Space/Music Reach/Wind It Up aren't happy hardcore

Older Prodigy is vastly different than the stuff they've done recently, their sound has really evolved.

I just dont see the simlarity between that and the chipmunk vocal high BPM stuff.

Yeah, same here. I'd put the early Prodigy stuff as Oldskool/Jungle. The Happy Hardcore stuff (the chipmunks) sounds more refined to me. Depends, too, on how pedantic one is about the genres of course.
