Way to say something positive. Actually Mr. Owner-Of-All-Knowlage...
I have one single DJ that will be playing breakbeats. His name is Steve Chadwick and he had to beg me to play Breaks because no one that comes to my parties wants to hear them.
The last 3 parties I've thrown in Gainesville went as follows:
1)Winter Chill 01/04: 9PM-3AM 400+ People, 2 DJ setups. DnB/Jungle/Ragga/HipHop/Trance. No cops, no hard drugs that I noticed and if there were, no one shared.
2)Bound 12/04: 7PM-7AM 500+ people, 3 DJ setups. DnB/Underground HipHop/Electro/House/Downtempo. Cops gave warnings about cars and left. People doing coke in the front lawn were kicked out. No other problems.
3)Winter Chill 2 01/05: 10PM-6AM 400+ people, 2 DJ setups. DnB/Jungle/Underground HipHop/Downtempo/Electro. Full lighting/fog/sound systems from Club 5 & Sound Ideas. No cops, no hard drugs, no problems all night long. I had to kick 100 people out the house at 6AM that didn't want to stop dancing.
So if you are basing my parties or any future parties in the city of Gainesville on anything relevant to Simon's or what has happened in the past, you are sadly mistaken and need to make it out more often to support the city that helped create your scene.
A new Underground in waiting to be created. Keep an open ear pointed towards Gainesville... |
in gregs defense i totally understood his post...it was not trying to bash ur party...im sure ur party will be cool but cool to some isnt to everyone...most of the sflta's on this board (me included) are not into the old school d&b and breaks scene...personally i flat out hate it...i am a devout strait beat addict...back in 99 i was in to all breaks cause that was prevalent...edm has sure changed from the underground rave scene to me paying 60 bux to get into clubs and buying 12 dollar drinks cause its how it is now...for me i like it better this way then when it was all underground and frowned upon...the scene down south is mainstream and very trendy with expensive clubs and expensive dress...the point is some arent into the old school rave scene which ur party is more like...not that that is a bad thing just how it is....anyway i wont lie when i see ur partys i am a little worried cause i see d&b and breaks mostly and that isnt my scene at all..call it trendy or call it how edm has progressed into, but some can be snobbish in their music and i am definitely...i will check this party out this time if other tas like arturo and james spin but if after there done and it turns into d&b and breaks crowd my time their will expire...nothing against that scene but like i said earlier its not mine...i just wanted to clear that up cause i dont want you to think peeps are bashing ur party cause thats not the case...i respect all genres of edm i just don't listen to them all... i hope u understand this post and don't take it the wrong way... PLUR...
