thank you guys for all your input...

i guess some versions of FS2 do suck and give problems.... well since so many people are swearing by their SSL that its a great equipment ... perhaps i will get the SSL then.... but i also heard a new version is coming out ... not sure when though.

i would also wanna get a turntable .. perhaps a technics? but there also are gemini or numark... somehow playing with a vinyl feels more. right...... but im still gonna use my pioneer cmx3000 ... but just get only 1 turntable ... heard that SSL still works even though with a one turntable setup? ... SSL is smart enough to switch it at the touch of some buttons?

It dont get why so many people disslike final scratch

i own final scratch 1.5 and it works just great...
at first i had minor problems and the program wasnt functionning properly but i install it again and evrything works just fine

never lets me down...evrything is always functionning properly
never dropped in any gigs...

and i got it for 450 canadian bucks so screw ssl who cost 1000 canadian bucks

btw...that one table setup that you can use works but once you get your second track in you cant ajust the first one

You can buy SSL now and still get future upgrades in the future for free. Just be sure the version you buy includes cv02 vinyl b/c cv01 had some drifting issues due to the imperfections in the origional acitate. If you can't get a SSL setup w/ CV02 vinyl, software version 1219 has a "drift compensation" feature that compensates for older Scratch live vinyl.

And for using a single deck, you simply click "input reverse" and it allows you to use one deck w/ ssl. Oh yeah, the software also comes w/ 2 timecode cds so you can use your cd deck and turntable.

A little late on the thread, but I used the search for the past 3 months and this was one of the ones I found....

I just used SSL yesterday, and it was VERY easy to get accustomed to. Took me 2 songs and I was mixing just as good(if not better) as I do with regular vinyl.

I also talked with my friend about his opinion of the two and he recommended SSL.

I haven't had a chance to try FS, but for the trial I did with SSL, it was awesome. I would highly recommend it.

Having used both FS2 and SSL now i would say go with SSL you only have to deal with one company for tech support and you can actually get tech support.

I bought FS2 last month and I'm proud of this product. You have to know that FS2 run on FireWire, so it's 10X faster than USB. Also, you had an External great Sound Card, so your laptop is limited to sound drops.

Personnaly, the FS2 Traktor Program as a better look than SSL.

Interesting, I'm goin to have to try out FS2 so I get a better idea of what the differences are (speedwise and overall).
So is there no version of SSL that runs on FireWire? (guess I could always look up the info.. heh). Although from workin with SSL I didn't notice the speed being any problem.
