If your a good dj, i'm sure you can rock a crowd w/ a ghetto radio-shack mixer.

but hey, i reckon the DJM600 has lived quite a good life, and you can still rock a crowd with it.

Your forgot the Nuo5, X1500, Empath, and X-9 are MORE nice too.

the only thing i would say about using battle mixers for edm mixing is that on the decent battle mixers, the crossfader is really really smooth and light. e.g., the stanton SA- series with the penny & giles x-fader, the vestax PCV crossfaders, and the optical crossfader (like on the DJM-707).. my pcv-275's x-fader i can literally blow across, only problem being is if you dont mix using the channel faders and constantly have them up, the slightest knock could send the x-fader flying to the other side making a complete balls up of the mix...

there would be nothing wrong with buying a 707 for edm mixing, it just seems silly because for that kind of money you could buy a Xone 32 which would be much more suited for mixing

If you don't use the crossfader to do mixes (which you shouldn't, but you can if you want) then you won't have that problem. Good luck finding a Xone 32 for $300 bucks. With the Xone you won't be able to scratch right either. With a battle mixer you can do smooth mixes and you can scratch so thats why I like them the best.

I haved nothing to add to this thread other than to say that the Tacam X-9 Mixer is awful, not even in the same league as the DJM 600

I used it at a bar once. Didn't have any problems with it and the crossfader is much better than the pioneers POS crossfader.

I know when I priced the 707 here in the states after the rebate it was $300. I Xone 32s were the same price as 707s here I'd reccomend the 707.

it was an underground party and i showed up and rocked the place

i definitely had to adapt quick

anyone with some real experience of this mixer? what would the be the downsides of it for a normal trance/prog dj? and how is it better than the djm-300 for a normal trance/prog dj?

i got quite interested in this as i figured i could get this so god damn cheap it's not even funny, but i dunno if there's any point in switching my djm-300s to this one really, as there's really nothing too much wrong with the djm-300s.

I would perfer the 707 over the xone

I think you just go for the name when choosing a mixer. 707 is better than the xone
