the only thing i would say about using battle mixers for edm mixing is that on the decent battle mixers, the crossfader is really really smooth and light. e.g., the stanton SA- series with the penny & giles x-fader, the vestax PCV crossfaders, and the optical crossfader (like on the DJM-707).. my pcv-275's x-fader i can literally blow across, only problem being is if you dont mix using the channel faders and constantly have them up, the slightest knock could send the x-fader flying to the other side making a complete balls up of the mix...
there would be nothing wrong with buying a 707 for edm mixing, it just seems silly because for that kind of money you could buy a Xone 32 which would be much more suited for mixing

are the 707s $300? when i wrote that i checked the htfr catalogue and it was £489 which was only £10 less than the Xone 32 which was priced at £499
