at a supermarket, or other place of business where it's pretty much a necessity to go...yes...and a FEW spaces, yes. The Dominion down on Lakeshore...I haven't been there for a while, but don't they have a whole bunch of spots??? They are *always* empty...or I just see someone park there who clearly is not a "mother to be", lol.
at a shopping mall...um...not so necessary. I think someone can go without the shopping spree for the couple of very uncomfortable months (please don't hate me, ladies!)
people against these spots altogether often seem to be hung up on ridiculous "equality" notions...well, guess what...not everyone is equal. Most young men have a much better state of mobility than an 8.5 month expectant mother And pregnancy is a temporary state...I certainly don't advocate spots for the obese, for example, lol.
It strikes me as absurd that people will be ok with disabled parking, but not 'expectant mother' parking...same shit, really...except that you're generally permanently disabled, so that parking should be more readily available at more places. |
If pregnancy is really a disability then lets solve the "problem" with temporary disabled passes for pregnant women. Problem solved.
