Yes, that had everything to do with the topic at hand.

I work in an office as well, not a large corporation, only 15 people or so, we build websites. but I understand you, even in my small little corner of the world, the bosses look down on the people.

they use us for their gain. this is not how it should be people!

capitalism and democracy as a system have made this world what it is.. that isn't to say that socialism, or even communism is the way to go either. all systems of government are inherently flawed, and to tell the truth the system we have here is a pretty good one.

I can freely talk about this, with no fear of retribution from the government. that alone is worth keeping democracy.
I can invent a brilliant device and become rich of it as well..
another good thing.

anyway, my plan is not to scrap capitalism and democrazy, but to have something ABOVE it.

This is my plan. An organization above governments, above countries and religions. essentially a worldwide club for peaceful people. a sort of global ethics committe. where EVERYONE has equal say. you put forth suggestions, and people vote on them. once a decision is made, everyone tries to enforce it. with hundreds of thousands of people speaking as one, we can beat them! the governments and established leaders are few, we are many.

The most important thing is to live your life in a peaceful manner. the process is already started.

no, good does not hold a grudge. you will regret being passed by, you will regret not standing up for what you believe.

quote:
So you're telling us to abandon religion and societal structures, yet base the day of your revolution on the gregorian calendar (arguably the most powerful societal structure in the west) and nature religion.

Depending on the methods used for achieving the revolution you're no better than any other fundamentalist aspiring to ascribe their set of values onto the rest of the world. The beauty of the way the system works today is that people with peaceful intentions can do with their *own* life what they want.

No, you don't have to abandon your religion, or quit your oppressive job. this is above all that. you only have to live your own life peacefully as you said, this system allows that so do it.

the problem being that the peaceful people are many and meek, and the oppressive people are few, but strong.

as for the methods to acheive the revolution, read my previous message. I am not trying to ascribe my values onto the rest of the world. I am trying to create a way for the collective values of everyone, you included, to be known and carry some weight with the powers that run the world.

Hehe yes, very Stephen King - The Stand. Great piece of writing though. Also, a book everybody has heard of but not many bothered to read; George Orwell - 1984. The last half is the best as it explains the thinking (and scarily enough sense) behind the social structure outlined in the story.

w000t! kinda high , that thread- but very interesting, a philosophical thread.
i didnt get u fully tho.
whats your POINT exactely. What(!) do u WANT what do u DISlike today and HOW do u wanna achieve ur goals.
At first it seemed to me that u watched a little bit too often "Fight Club" ..but okay..
What is it that u criticize? Capitalism? Religion? The whole Evolution? The Modern Technology? Politics?
And why that predicition in the end? That makes the, in fact very serious post, a lill' bit ridiculous.
Let's leave Nostradamus-or-moon-calneder-shite aside and concentrate on your questions and asumptions.

I think that every human being is just a brick in the wall(dont laugh) and im not sure if one brick can change the whole wall, or even slightly affect it. And i assume that if u destroy the wall as it is now, it will rebuilt itself exactely the same way.

my goal is to make the world a better place.

about the calendar, your right, it's meaningless, jan 1st 2012 is just another day. it's only when we started counting right?

but it's the symbolism. the way that our society has made us believe the 12 month calendar, when really there are 13 months, is a symbol of how they tell us what is and what isn't. they tell us that we like pepsi, so we drink it.

but I don't even like pepsi! I want water! where is the advertising campaign for that?

I am just another brick in the wall, but I am gong to make a difference, or at least ruffle some feathers.

hm, well saying that it all sucks and that the world's unfair is quite easy...of course a lot of it sux but i once in a while think about the GOOD things done and developed which makes me hope.

they "they tell us what to do" thingy is a bit exaggerated and simplificized(DAMN is it THAT word??). Pepsi is a company aiming to make profit. they do it by promotion and its ur problem if u let them brainwash you or not..

Yes, there are many good things in this world, it is not all bad.

I don't let pepsi brainwash me. but some people do, because they don't know any better. I'm not saying we should march into corporate headquarters of pepsi and demand they stop advertising. nor do I think they should be able to make money.

what I want, is for the people to have their own advertising. where we can send out the message that water is way better for you. where we can tell people that diet pepsi contains aspartame, and it's very bad for you.

Shit. These threads always make everyone post their deep deep thoughts on life, and their views on the world's revolution.. and it makes my eyes hurt!..hehe..not from the ideas, but rather all the damn words!

Yes, 1984 was amazing, and oddly enough, not many people have read it. Animal Farm was another amazing book, one that I think has more relevance to this topic than the former. If you guys haven't read it yet, I highly suggest it..quite insightful..makes me wonder what Orwell knew that we didn't.

But yeah, RAvingLunatic, if you want to start a World Revolution, you can damn well count me in! I'm always up for a little anarchy! Seriously though, I'm down w/ it, hehe..

I'm interested in why you believe the Beginning of the End (or Beginning of the New Beginning?..) will start in 2012.. what is the significance of this date?.. you may have mentioned it in one of your prior posts, but I'd rather not read them all again!

anyhoo, check out Animal Farm, guys..
