By reading that paragraph it looks like Korea was part the "French Indochina" connection when in fact, the only involvement I can find between France and Korea is the Korean War (France was part of the U.N. forces involved) and an economic signing of a treaty of trade and friendship in 1886.
An error not in geography (any 5 year old with a globe can see they're not that close) but more in a geopolitcal context, akin to saying "New World".
I knew my geography wasn't that bad but thanks for pointing that out 
Incidentally has anyone ever looked at Korea's history??
