i don't think i've ever heard anyone wishing each other a 'Happy Ramadan' but i've heard some people wishing each other a 'Holy Ramadan'.. Ramadan can be somewhat of a joyous occasion to an extent since Muslims will often visit members of their family during evening feasts and so forth ..

What I am basically saying is have a happy and safe Ash Wednesday as in try not to die, don't commit suicide and try to not get by a car and stuff like that!!

I'm not telling people to run out and party like its Mardi Gras people

Actually, when I was in Morocco during Ramadan...they said it's supposed to be fasting, abstaining, no parties etc. I think they said it's a month long process. They do eat...but it's something closely resembling congee soup like.

So ya Ramadan isn't a happy thing until it's over.

That's only because morons say 'happy ramadan'. After the holy month, muslims celebrate Id-ul-Fitr which is where you would say 'Id mubarak' which loosely translates to 'happy Id'.

From what i know, the fasting begins at sun rise and ends at sunset afte r which you are allowed food and water. Back home, i had several friends who wouldn't even drink water during the month of Ramadhan, so you can pretty much forget about any partying during the day. I don't seem to recall there being any prohibitions from partying during the night though, which is what a lot of people did. Might be different here, depending on how strictly people follow the rules.
