I feel some people are getting away from the point here, I asked for views and experiences although I aprecciate the laughs.

I dont feel that I have to prove my beliefs. I have merely asked people why they don't respect the music I love and been told things which I don't agree with, hence the arguments.

Dude I love all music. All genres of EDM, rock, punk, jazz, soul, hip-hop, reggaeton. I don't mind anything. If the track/song/tune appeals to me and if it makes me feel good.. i don't care what it is.

BUT, does dance music deserve the same respect as other genres, e.g, rock, soul, blues, funk, classical to name but a few?

Oh and I love classical music.

And yes dance music deserves the same respect. Messing with knobs, synths, mixers, turntables and etc. takes talent to do it right. Therefore, like any other music, its art and it deserves respect.

how can you possibly group all thoes together...

they all have their "clicks" the same people that listen to classical probably dont respect rock the same way...

edm(trance,house,techno...) for the most part probably has the most "un normal" for lack of better words culture.

especially with the ignorance of the american government...(for us americans, its to bad the rave act failed lol@!)

I'm not trying to group these genres together. I was only stating genres which are established.

you know 1 million people go to love parade in germany?

what do ya think the biggest rock gathering was??(hope it wasnt over a million) . And this happends yearly... so to call it un-established is false...

I know that most of the EDM culture is about taking drugs of whatever description. Governments may frown upon that and wish to be seen to condone it for whatever (VOTES) reason but a lot of music (think 50's 60's 70's 80's) was born this way. I can't argue with that but that's not my point is it.

I never said un-established, but you could do me a favour and come talk to the people who i've been arguing with.

I only want EDM, especially trance and techno to be recognised and to hear other peoples experiences with narrow minded people, nothing more.
