Generate 81million tourist dollars to walk into central park for free in mid feb when its freezing outside, now if this was truely a marketing ploy tied to an art form, wouldn't you think they'd institute this during the spring/summer ala come to central park and "stroll"? oh wait, I know 81million to have people ride in heated horse carriages yes? And honestly, what were the sponsors thinking about when they "chipped in"
Ok maybe my generalizations aren't fair since I haven't physically gone there and looked at one of those things, but the whole artistic point of view fumbles me. I mean why pick that Orange? Maybe I haven't read up on it enough and orange is representing some mood setting color for the cold winter here in hopes that it would ease peoples minds by reminding them that summer is coming? I think that an "artistic form" to generate "millions" should be centralized somewhere, maybe in the field, but definitely not along the path way? Or maybe they marketed to the sponsors what great advertisements it would pose for people passing by in taxi's during the winter? Oh wait, sorry they only allow cross-town traffic through central park! Sorry to be such a pessimist but I think this city is dumping money in all the wrong places...like the MTA! Give me a break I'm paying $4 for a roundtrip fare to head downtown. What would you think about shelling out $5. haha dont even get me started...time to move to Arizona and get paid 6 figures!
