I've had a great year so for personaly. Every party I've gone to thus far has been alot of fun and from the looks of it they have been successful at drawing a good crowd.

I don't really know much about the broadcasting industry but I think were not actually having a bad period for trance, its more that our music resources have beed affected a little bit by recent happenings in the media and whatnot.

That and were just living in a different period of history now than we were in 1999(or before). People seem to blame all the things that are happening on trance music going down hill.

To me it doesnt matter which superclub goes out of business, which law is passed or which stations have gone off the air, there is still good music to be heard and good parties to go to.

The Winter Music Conference should be a better indication of what we can expect for the rest of the year, or at least for the summer.

It's tradition for this topic to come up sometime during February every year. Let it pass.

I disagree, lots of good stuff so far :
- Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base - Getting Away
- Alucard pres. The 49th Line - Blue On Blue <- especially the Hydroid's Dream Remix
- Cupa - Mass Panic (Gareth Emery Remix)
- Filo & Peri pres. Taxi - Distance (Original, Will Holland and Fractal Structure Remix)
- Fractal Structure - Natural Signs
- Fred Baker vs. The Keyboard Kids - All Of Us
- Kompressor - Black Onyx (Green Martian Remix)
- Plastic Boy album!
- Phynn - Lucid
- POS - Gravity
- Siberian Sun - Frostbite
- Solarstone - Eastern Sea <- what we heard so far sounds very promising imo
- Solid Globe - Lost Cities
- Vascotia - Verano
- Whiteroom ft. Amy Cooper - Someday

Just to name a few...

If it keeps going like this, 2005 will be great I think

progressive house and house ( not GDJB bullshit! ) have produced some quality gems in 2005.

trance has been shit but historically May-September is a better indication of its output for the year ( as is the case with other genres too).

conclusion: be patient and expand your listening horizons in the mean time.
