Raz Nitzan:
People think that artists are immune to what forums write about them...
I started reading a couple of days ago a forum about Armin on
Tranceaddict and I couldn't believe the cruelty of some of the
comments. I think it was like ten pages or more of pure acid against
Armin, his new single, his career, Trance music etc... I can't imagine
anyone enjoying to read such viciousness.
The reason why I am mentioning this is simple. Two months ago there was
a similar forum on Solid Globe's new single "Lost cities" just after we
put a sample of the track online and within hours the whole
Tranceaddict forum was full of 5 star vicious poison comments. Usually
I am quite uninterested in such negative criticism but every now and
then it hits home. We've spent two to three months in the studio
working on this track and then reading that it sounds like a bad demo
was not easy and not sweet (an understatement). I couldn't really get
it and took it quite personally. It does bring you down sometimes and
it does make you wonder why you spending so much time in such an
ungrateful and fickle business.
Two months later, by now we've had huge support on the "Lost Cities"
track from a very wide range of some respectable people - top of the
line and new up and coming DJs. Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Above &
Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Menno de Jong, Gareth Emery, Johan Gielen,
Ronski Speed, Simon Patterson (Dogzilla) you name them and they love
the record. Guess what - the same forums that killed "Lost Cities" are
all superlatives now... Your record is tha bomb!
Makes you think...
