Best tackle of the game has to go to Babayaro, Lampard thought he had turned him and was free to shoot when Babayaro swung round full circle and took the ball off him! Lampard barely knew what had happened.

Our passing was awful and frankly we should have done much more damage but our final ball was always lacking. Carr and Ameobi both missed one-on-ones. Jenas in particular had a poor game. But the defence was awesome, espescially Bramble. Kluivert looks sharper with every game but he needs to lose a bit of beef.

It was rare to see Souness pick 4-4-2 with everyone playing in their correct position using two wide players. Injuries and suspension forced him to use some common sense! Good to have Boumsong, Dyer and Butt back.

Chelsea passed the ball better and played well for a team with 10 men but they only created one chance in 90 minutes and that came from a lucky deflection. The injury to Bridge was a fair tackle by Shearer, Bridge just fell awkwardly. Duff was injured by his own keeper as they tried to stop Carr scoring and Gallas pulled a groin strain or something. The end result being that they lost 3 players to injury and we didn't get a yellow card, and the best bit is they can have no complaints, it just wasn't their day at all.

They had to play Gudjohnsen, Duff and Lampard for 45 minutes ahead of the Barcelona game and if Gallas and Bridge miss that game then they will probably have to play Ferreira at left back and Johnson at right back, with Carvalho and Terry in the middle. Makelele, Terry and Cech are probably the only players who got a rest on the weekend for the Barcelona game. Costly game for Chelsea!

Congratulations Newcastle. I like Lampard and Terry but can't stand Mournhino (or Ferguson or Wenger) or even the club of Chelsea. They were crap for years and all of a sudden with money, they're huge. Fielding a second rate team serves them right. The FA Cup deserves more resepct than that.

I can't really blame them for fielding a weaker team, they play Barcelona in the Nou Camp on Wednesday and the Carling Cup Final against Liverpool on Sunday. Terry was suspended and Robben and Drogba were injured.

They still fielded a team of 11 internationals with Duff, Lampard and Gudjohnsen all coming on at half time.

yes, I know you're right...I just don't like Chelsea or Man U very much...actually I loathe them. But that's the price of playing in England. There are four big trophies to play for including Europe and you run the risk of playing 3 important games within a week's time. Looks like it cost Chelsea on two fronts this time.
