Never buy a mazda ... my best friend's einge and tranny blew. The sad thing is, my car is much 2x older then his. Poor guy

As mentioned earlier...

I drive a '96 MX3 Precidia.. I've had it for almost 4 years. I bought it off my mom, who owned it for about a year before that. Since we've had it, its only needed a new muffler.

Right now, it needs a few minor repairs, but all cosmetic.

I think I've just been lucky *knock on wood* and I'm expecting everything to break come springtime..

i drive a 2002 mazda protege 5 and i love it
I've had it for almost 3 years now and haven't had any problems (Knock on wood) hehe but then again i only have 20k on it lol

Well, I remember in Kuwait, they used to say "Mazda Fazda", fazda means rotten in arabic.

I guess it depends on which model you get & how well you maintain it.Parts for Mazdas are more expensive then other imports so there's that to consider too...

My buddy's mom has a 2002 Protege from new, electrical probs, and the 'chrome' from the Mazda symbol peeled off

Mazda are a better car than a Bitsumissin (Mitsubishi).
