Its obvious that most of the people that replied here did not visit, or more importantly read that website, because it is not talking about what we call 'Trance Music' at all. To be honest the creator of that website does not know what he talking about in the slightest, totally fucking clueless, and he thinks going into your own little world watching tv is dangerous. He can't even define Trance properly.
And for the original thread starter if you are becoming down or depressed when you listen to Trance it is more than likely you are associating that music with a bad experience. We all do this in some way, for example when I listen to a song I remember from a snow boarding holiday I get happy, when I listen to a CD that I play when on a comedown from drugs I tend to almost become a little unhappy. Its not the music thats the problem its what you are associating it with subconsciously.
Going even further listening to music and becoming down is a classic sign of depression, and depressed people can often be seen listening to music to distract their mind from thinking negative thoughts. Some people can't even sleep without listening to music. If this is you I suggest that you see a doctor or at the very least begin an exercise routine.
