We don't really have actual numbers, but we know whenever someone's banned.

Although I think keeping stats would be funny, some people would interpret it as a "trigger happy behaviour" from us, which is not what we want.

i like the idea about preventing new members from starting threads. add to that a limit on the number of replies that new members can make.

for instance, when people first sign up, they would not be able to start threads. they can only reply and there could be a limit to the number of replies per day such as one reply per day for the first week. after some agreed-upon time, they would be able to start threads and reply more times a day.

these rules would not burden new members, and might significantly reduce spam. most of the spam or lame threads are the ones created by the new members anyway (i think .)
