Hmm, I'm not sure where you get your statistics from, my impression is that most people who's into psy respect GMS and their contribution to the scene. After all they pretty much invented the full-on sound. Sure, there's been many copy-cats, but that's not GMS' fault is it? As said their recent stuff isn't all that good, but their old stuff is still quality psy. You could do a poll on this on psynews and see what the opinions are there, I doubt 90% will say that those tunes I mentioned are bad.
