Re: [review] Nic Fanciulli at Spirit
quote:
Originally posted by Sunshine79 I just want you all to know that you missed a great set by a great DJ. Nic is so funky and fresh! He played some funky house, tech house, electro and tracks that I can't even categorize but they were HOT! The basslines were incredible and his mixing was on point the whole night. The flow was a little inconsistent and not always danceable [kind of reminscent of some zabiela sets i've witnessed] but I was in awe the entire night and loved every minute.
This kid is in a league all his own. He is so unique and creative. His set was the most original I've heard in a long time. I can't wait to check him out in miami. For those of you who haven't heard him and will be heading to Sander @ Spin, you will see what I mean.
I <3 Nic Fanciulli!!
Thanks to Mixmag for putting this youngster on the clubbing map. He is definately going places.

The track in the 'Washing Machine' video is:
Rulers of the Deep - The Last Survivor (Buick Project Main Mix) [NRK]
One of Nic's own
edit - If you really like it you can purchase it @ Beatport.

UWM,
are you sure you're not confusing it with some other track, maybe in 1 of the other 2 videos? because i listened to the track you posted (i found it at http://www.nrksounddivision.com/realaudio/NRK101A.ram ) and it doesn't seem to be the washing machine song.

I'll re-listen to Beatport's sample and I'll take a listen to the one on NRK. IIRC it was identical to the video clip but I could (obviously) be mistaken.

I just listened to beatport's sample - the buick project mix of the track, and immediately remembered it...i am almost positive that fanciulli played that track as well, and it's definately a hot track, but it is definitely not the washing machine one
i've searched around for tracks named "washing machine" and i came up
with this:
sikk (this track was played at pete tong's 02-25-05 essential selection on radio 1, but i cant relisten to it to verify because theres a new essential selection and the old ones is not on the listen again player anymore arghhhh)
mr. lee (don't have much info on this one)
Giorgio Santi Amantini (nor this one)
the search continues....

It's likely the one Tong most recently played as him & Nic are known to play some of the same stuff.
Sorry for the mis-ID, but glad to help find another track from the night

Hmm. I have read in a lot of places that Pete Tong played the washing machine track earlier, so I think the Sikk track is probably it. I can't seem to find it anywhere though. I guess I'll have to keep looking...
