Yeah, just reverting back to the "women falling in love with jerks thing", I have to say that in my experiences, among my social circle, there is an awful lot of truth to it.
Now I'm not going to into any detail about what exactly happened (because I don't think that a public forum, viewed by thousands, is the place to go into it) but in my close group of friends, basically all of them, except for me and maybe one or two more, in this group, have been fucked around by a woman at least once over the past couple of years (though some of my friends believe that I have been messed around, though I would disagree and, again, I'd rather not get into it here anyway).
I'll just say this: the nice guy approach just don't work. From what I've seen, they loose repsect for you, walk all over you, then move onto some rich wanker with a small penis and big porsche, get completely screwed around and then wonder, genuinely, why they can't find a nice guy. Now I'm not saying this because I'm a chauvanist, or because I'm otherwise sexist or that I don't like women, it's because I've seen it happen time and time again. They do have some sort of pathelogical addiction to jerks.
Maybe it is the macho thing, or a lack of self-respect, or a preponderance of masochistic urges or something, but it does happen and I've given up trying to understand why. The girls that I know are so caught up in their own little-world, mired in this almost decedant self-importance and I've grown tired of it. Either I'm just not friends with the right girls, or maybe I just need to find an older woman who's matured passed all these frustrating little head-games, but after my last girlfriend I made a vow to myself that I would never date for the sake of dating again. If I meet the right girl then fine, but I'm not going to risk my self-dignity just to satisfy the whim of some silly little girl who just needs another notch to boost her ego.
Anyway, I didn't mean to come across this bitter and twisted, it's just what it has come to. My friends and I have become so much closer because of it, and as it stands now, mainly through our own choice, only two of us are currently in a relationship: one who wants out, and the other who is being led around on a leash and doesn't realise it (and I ain't going to tell him for fear of getting a bollocking ).
I think the pendulum has swung too far to be honest: it's now the men who are being used and made to feel inferior, yet they can't reproach anyone for it without being labelled a sexist. Too many women just lack a conscience in this regard and think that men don't have feelings or any sort of sensitivity and can - nay, deserve - to be just walked over.
Anyway, I'm not talking about all the women in the world, just most of the ones that I know apparently. Good luck to all of you in relationships though, I can only hope that they turn out better than any of the ones I've witnessed.
Sorry for ruining your thread.
