Sandstorm03 pointed out to me that hard disk drives are still discs. Doh @ me. Though I still believe Sasha isn't a DJ anymore.

Why? Most of the music was made with a hard drive anyway. To me the "feeling" doesn't come from the medium on which the track is placed, it comes from the music itself.

Q. What’s Best Technological Development for DJs / producers in recent years?

Pos. DJ Answer

1 Tiesto Pioneer’s DVD Deck

3 Armin Van Buuren The Pioneer CDJ-1000

5 Ferry Corsten The new types of CD players

10 Deep Dish Pioneer CDJ1000 – game over

11 Carl Cox Pioneer’s CDJ-1000s. They got it right and
have really opened things up for DJs

12 Sander Kleinenberg For me, it’s the introduction of DVD in the DJ booths

13 ATB The Pioneer DJM-909, what a great mixer!

14 Judge Jules Pioneer CDJ1000

16 Marco V The Pioneer DVJ-X1, the CD player with an inbuilt DVD that
allows you to mix visuals with music. It’s something I hope to be using in my sets soon.

17 Roger Sanchez The CDJ technology has changed the game completely. More
DJs are playing CDs and there are less record boxes getting
lost/stolen at airports.

18 Benny Benassi Professional DJ CD players

19 Tall Paul CD decks

20 Danny Howells Pioneer CDJ1000s. In the last few years even the most hardcore
acetate users have made the switch to CDs.

21 Steve Lawler The CDJs. You can do so much more with a CDJ than a deck.
They allow you to mix on the fly, which makes my job as a DJ
more creative and much more interesting.

25 Eddie Halliwell CDJ/DVJ and Ableton Live

28 Johan Gielen The ongoing development and improvement of CD mixers. It’s
incredible how they manage to simulate the feeling of mixing vinyl
while you’re actually mixing with a CD.

32 Markus Schulz The CDJ-1000 and on-line check-ins for airlines

33 Joji Biomehanika Final Scratch and the Pioneer CDJ-1000. Thanks to them my
record bag has got much lighter recently.

35 Bad Boy Bill The Pioneer DVJ

37 Dave Clarke CD Mixing. It’s now tried and tested. CDs are easy to archive,
cross-compatible and easy to transport.

39 Above & Beyond CDJ’s, but this will be the year of Ableton Live

43 Nick Warren The Pioneer CD player

45 Laurent Garnier For DJs the new CD players have changed everything, and the
new DVJ players are going to as well

47 Jeff Mills Mills would almost certainly say the Pioneer DVJ that he twiddled
about with at Sonar

48 Satoshi Tomiie CD decks and software like Albeton Live

52 John ‘00’ Fleming Pioneer CDJ-1000 Mk2s and Albeton Live

53 Plump DJs The Pioneer CDJ1000

54 David Morales The world of digital – computers, software and CDJs

57 Dave Seaman Pioneer’s new DVJ DVD Deck

58 Fergie CD decks, probably

59 Matt Hardwick The phasing out of vinyl and the use of CDs is perhaps the
most significant development

62 M.I.K.E. (PUSH) The new generation of CD players does the trick for me!

64 Max Graham Pioneer’s DVJ. Personalised visuals attached to your music? We
live in amazing times…

70 Junior Jack Pioneer CDJ1000s, even though I don’t play that many CDs

78 Dave Pearce The CDJ

79 Anne Savage Pioneer DVJ-X1 DVD turntable

80 DJ Vibe Final Scratch, Cycloops and the Pioneer EFX500 effect unit

84 Armand Van Helden Plug-ins, CD and DVD scratchers…the list is endless

85 Chris Fortier The CDJ

86 Remy The edit effects on Pioneer CDJs

87 Seb Fontaine CD players. They are so good now and so much easier to travel
with. I probably play 10% from records. If I like a record I burn it straight to CD now.

89 James Lavelle Pioneer CDJ1000s and the ability to burn software software and
make music that quickly. They’ve revolutionised DJing.

90 Proteus The Pioneer CDJ

97 Darude The Pioneer CDJ 1000s. They rock and have changed people’s
old school attitudes.

98 Andy Farley CD Mixer technology has advanced no end. I use a lot more
CDRs of new material in my sets and take a lot more CD when I
travel, just in case the airline happens to lose my records!

99 Ronald Van Gelderen DJ wise, I’d say the CDJ from Pioneer. I use it a lot to roadtest
new material.

100 Mark Farina The CDJ1000. It’s changed things a lot. I now play about 80% of my set off CD.

1) Show some respect for the people that run TA by using the search button.

2) Show some respect for the people that use this forum by not making generic beaten-to-death threads like 'do you think sasha is chaning the art of dj'ing' or 'asot sounds the same'.. we've all heard them 1000 times. Just because you feel like talking about it doesn't mean we all have to see it.

3) Show some respect for someone that has four times as many posts on this board than you, jackass.
