Are there really not equally entertaining cases in your own countries? I swear with as much attention the U.S. gets in these forums, while some of you may hate America, your countires must be BORING.

I find it funny the ppl who come out of the wood work to defend these murders and creeps. They act like they know more than the 12 jurors who sat on the case, heard all the evidence and testimony. I have to go now, I'm attending a free Michael Jackson midnight vigil.

You can find day by day in depth discussions of the prosecution's case by going down to the bottom fo the main page:

http://www.courttv.com/trials/peterson/index.html

Jurors comments about the verdict:

http://www.courttv.com/trials/peter...jurors_ctv.html

Circumstancial evidence is enough if it proves beyond a reasonable doubt.

so, here are their "proof":

(btw, courttv is quite biased, no?)

The motive:

quote:
Amber Frey

Peterson began an affair with the massage therapist Nov. 20, telling her he was a lovelorn bachelor eager to have a future with her and her daughter.

many ppl have affairs, it was also quite clear that he didnt want any serious relationship with her.

quote:
Unwanted baby
When asked if he was excited about the birth of his first child, Peterson told his sister-in-law Rose Rocha that he was “kinda hoping for infertility.”

When his wife’s cousin said he must be looking forward to games of catch with his son, Peterson was dismissive: “I have friends who can do that,” he said.

He told Frey he didn’t want any children of his own and was considering a vasectomy.

I got a sister a few years back, and i made statements like that and worse before she was born, i did never kill her tho and i would never ever do it either.

quote:
Financial problems
His brother-in-law, Brent Rocha, said Peterson seemed "down" and said he "wasn't doing good at his job."

His employee, Eric Olson, said Peterson's fertilizer start-up was in trouble and orders weren't being filled on time.

Peterson owed $23,000 to credit-card companies and his debt was rising.

He relied on his parents for big-ticket purchases, including the $30,000 down payment for their home and $30,000 for a country club membership.

He and Laci were pawning jewelry for quick cash shortly before her death.

So by killing his wife and pregnant child he would solve these financial problems

Evidence and testamony.

quote:
Boat purchase
Peterson began shopping for the 14-foot Gamefisher the weekend a friend threatened to tell his mistress he was married. He did not tell any friends or relatives about the boat.

Fishing license
Peterson told detectives that his Christmas Eve trip to San Francisco Bay was a last-minute decision, but four days before, he had purchased a two-day fishing license valid for Dec. 23 and 24.
Anchors

many ppl go fishing there.

quote:
Peterson manufactured at least one cement weight that is now unaccounted for. Concrete takes at least 24 hours to set.

A cement block that was never found.

quote:
"Lost" wife
On Dec. 9, the same day he bought the boat, he told Frey he had "lost his wife" and would be spending his first holiday alone.
Planning for new year

obviously he was lying a lot to her. i dont see any reason (if his intention was to kill her) why he should tell her about it, in such a sucpisious way.

quote:
Peterson told Frey he was traveling for business, but would be able to spend more time with her by the end of January.
Current calculations

again, he told so much bullshit to her, so why wouldnt this be just another bullshit story?

quote:
Peterson researched currents, boat launches and fishing grounds in the bay two weeks before his wife disappeared.

So, he actually researched some before fishing... oh my... also they didnt find anything whatsoever that he had been researching more how to get away with the crime and so, which would make more sense.

anyway i gtg but if i get time to i will finnish it some other day... im not saying he is necesairly inocent, but i think that one of the most important things in a free state is that you should rather free than convict when there is not enough evidence.

Why would courtv be biased? It's job is to cover the cases not decide them.

If you want to critique the prosecution's case than know what you're talking about and at least read all the day by day summmaries at the bottom of the main site:

http://www.courttv.com/trials/peterson/

It might take you a while since a lot of them are pages on pages of transcript, but it would be the next best thing to going through months of trial like the jurors did (although that's probably not even enough). The jurors didn't just look at that short blurb that you did and conclude that he was guilty. As they said:

quote:

Jurors in the Scott Peterson trial insisted Monday that they felt no public pressure to convict the fertilizer salesman or sentence him to death.

"Nobody in this room or outside influenced my voting on any of this. No, no, no. I went by the facts," Greg Beratlis, Juror No. 1, told a roomful of reporters about an hour after the verdict.

Beratlis and two other jurors who spoke to the press said they based their decisions on hundreds of small "puzzle pieces" of circumstantial evidence that came out during the trial, from the location of Laci Peterson's body to the myriad lies her husband told after her disappearance.

"There's thousands of little moments," jury foreman Steve Cardosi said.

Another panelist, Juror No. 7, Richelle Nice, said, "When you look at everything and put it all together, it spoke for itself."

Or perhaps ... maybe you do know more than 12 people who sat through the entire trial.

update: Judge agrees with jurors decision and sentences Scott Peterson to death. I'm anti-death penality but in this case I'm going to have to look the other way.
