How about if i were to say i had a £200-£250 limit (US$400-480 limit)..

Is there a better mixer out there for that price then?

And if so where should i be looking (brands etc) I've looked at the Vestax PCV 180 and the PCV 275, dunno what you lads think of them.

As some of you say i'll probably be wasting my money if i bought something i'd have to replace down the line anyway.

Thanks for the input so far,

nelly

well dunno what the prices of mixers are like over there, but if you can afford the Vestax PCV-275, I recommend you get it, its a great proven mixer, you won't be disappointed.

Buy my Numark DXM06... I only used it for about 4 months before I upgraded to the Denon X1500. Its practically brand new.

mate, youve already got your gemini. its not worth thinking about this now. even if you send the gemini back and get a £200 mixer like the vestax pcv180, theres better mixers than that. for more money. predictably. i dont know about you but when i specify i budget i dont go over it. ever. otherwise you'll never stop. as a general rule theres always better stuff out there if you are willing to spend more money, especially with mixers in this price bracket. be content with what you've got. get good first. its not the tools that make the worksman. conversely if you want to save yourself the hassle of having to learn on beginner equipment - why bother asking for budget mixer recommendations? just get any catalogue with dj gear in it and look for the biggest 3 figure number. there you go. chances are its sweet too.

Hey buddy,

I'm not quite sure where you read that i've already got myself a Gemini mixer. I was looking at them but haven't actually purchased anything.

A Problem i have is that i take too long for a purchase. What i mean is, i'll take AGES to decide what i want so that i'm completely happy with it.

Reason why i'm asking for your advice on a more expensive mixer is that i just did a promotion job this week and earnt €400($530) In the last 2 days.

Which means i'd like to get off to a good start with a mixer.

I'm not really interested in the 'tools' that Dj's use or what's good to practise on at first. What i want is a piece of equipment which will a)Be worth the money i spent on it (eg. doing the task that it was intended to do, and doing that well) And b) Something that will last a while and not start falling apart after a good few hard sessions..

So that's the reason i asked about the mixer.

Oh and by the way, i also stick to that rule of yours. I was bidding on a Vestax pcv275 mixer on ebay and promised i wouldn't spend over £230, the mixer went over that and finished on 250 and that was that.

Anywho, you've got the right idea mate and i'm not knocking you (hope you don't think i am) There's a nicely priced Denon DN-X300 going as well but i don't know what they're like.

Again, thanks lads for all your input

Or even an Allen & Heath X one 32.. dunno if i'm wasting my money there either.. There's basically way too many choices, but only a few obvious ones i really should go for and those are the ones i'm trying to find. Just don't have the experience to know which ones are good, hence why i'm asking you lot

Looks exactly like my DX626

I bet Behringer stole the design from Gemini.

Yea they probably did, Behringer steal alot of ideas.

N3lly, if you want something kinda simple but works great and will last, wait for the new line of Nuos to come out, expecially the Nuo3, it looks VERY promising, Elcer make top notch gear, and the Nuo3 won't have any fancy crap, just the basics made REAL well.

Yeh i've heard about it quite a lot recently. And i've seen a few pictures of it and it looks amazing. I'm just worried that A)It' going to take a while till it comes out, and B) That it will cost around 500 Euro which is quite a bit out of my budget.

At the moment it looks like i'm going to go for the Vestax PCV275..

But yeh, thanks by the way to all of you for all your input above.. Helping me out big time.

My friend has the 626i and also I have use it. To very honest it really really sucks. Especially the crossfader. It started to bleed after less then a year of use. The mixers output of volume and sound is really weak. I dont know how much their worth these days but I wouldnt pay more than 50 bucks for the mixer. Maybe the upgraded model is made with more quality. If you stuck with these options only go with the ladder. But I personally would keep search. Having a good is the most important about being a dj.

Cool cheers for that mate.. i think that's why i'm actually going to spend more money and get something along the lines of a Vestax Mixer..

If i had more money and was more patient i'd probably wait for the Nuo3, but as it looks i'll probably be going for the PCV275..
