I had this same conversation with greg gow a couple of weeks ago, and he said he just can't play an all techno set - people want things mixed up more. I agree, and I hope to see more DJs bridging genres in their sets!
I loved her set - it was different, it was acid, electro, breaks, house, tech house, banging techno at times - it was diverse and it was a WELCOME CHANGE.
I'm so, so pleased that she played the way she did last night. I loved not recognizing 99% of what she played.
According to the crowd's response, Barbara knew what she was doing last night. |
first time when i saw her in 2002 she blew my mind away, then last time she was really too much BANG-BANG-y so i didnt know what to expect last night.
she was on the top of fucking things, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, good lord was she nasty, dark, funky, trippy, breaky, her set was fucking MELTING POT of all genres and people were eating it up.
sadly my fun started just around 3:40 am, too much fucking babysitting and running around, i was fed up with bullshit that some of my friends were pulling up i almost went home around 2-2:30.
BUT I DIDNT
