People are ignorant about all types of music if we all liked the same stuff, we'd all be fucking the same girl/guy.

God, so many people pissed me off yesterday. 1st, at a hiphop club, they played "Blood is Pumping" for some reason... and all these people start pretending to rave and crap and act retarded. as if thats the only way to dance to any kind of electronic song. then, at this gathering i had, i started playing some trance and these guys i work with are all "ugh, when is he gonna get tired of this 'techno' crap?" so i start fast forwarding it and they are all like, "omg 50 minutes of fast forwarding and it still sounds all the same(it was a tiesto liveset)." and they go on saying things like "what a waste of a cd" "play some REAL" music. and "real" music to them was heavy metal, alternative, and rap. i listen to all those genres too, i just prefer trance, but im open to everything. but these guys are all stupid about edm, and call everything techno. it just sickens me and pisses me off. sorrie i just had to rant about it, got nowhere else to complain.

Hahaha... i know how u feel. I hate that too

Xict: If you absolutely have to make a point with these folk, here's what you do:

Rap cliche counter: "Is this guy going on about guns/drugs/bitches/bling again? Why don't they ever talk about something else."

Metal cliche counter: "Can't these guys play anything else than distorted power chords? Where's the skill in that?"

Emo cliche counter: "Why can't these 30 year olds quite whining and grow up already?"

Fact of the matter is all forms of music have certain cliches tied to them; it's what makes them that form of music. EDM just happens to have the repetative cliche lumped onto it because EDM is repetative by nature. Continuous beats (yes, even in the songs where the beat completely stops for 2.5 minutes to let some 'emotional' melody play for a while) is one of its defining characteristics -it's what makes it dance music.

Those who don't emmerse themselves into certain music will only know it by the cliches. Deal with it.

If they told me my music was repetitive, i'd say "Of course it is, that's how it's supposed to be you moron."

But yeah...a guy in the Marines blasting pussy trance in front of his fellow Marines...that's called a Kodak moment.
