wow, this is very very cool stuff (this could make a cool intro track for a set)

i am not liking the delay on the guitar. and the constnat kick doesn't fit, imo... would be cool if you brought in the slow breakbeat earlier in the song. also, i agree with the delay on the vocals, sounds a little excessive

keep it up, sounding great

WOW!!

Chris, this is amazing, what a superb version of After All.

I've heard about 150 mixes of this track because of the Delerium - After All comp a while back and dood, this is easily the best version i've heard of it. amazing stuff!

and oh, i've sent it to Rhys Fulber for him to give it a listen to.

That is huge man!
I love the dark atmosphere and the acoustic guitar thought at some points it sounds like the vocals are a bit out of place. To tell you the truth except for the vocals it has nothing in common with the original tune. If I were you I would get some new vocals that will fit better with the rhythm and melody and make a whole new song.
The beginning reminds me abit of Pink Floyd heh…

Read This!

WOW! Been away for the last few days...

Thanks for all the kind words guys and gals! Ill try and work on a few aspects and also a proggie mix

Oh and it was going to be all acoustic bit with out the drums it sounded very empty, and to make the drums shine through i had to really compress the whole mix...so it isnt really acoustic anymore :S lol

but thanks again

Shep

still is too compressed for an acoustic tune... it could have been done better... yeah, it sounds like you did it the fast route... did you filter the guitar? or anything for that matter? sometimes a great acoustic track can be polished up with a little bit of minor EQing... instead of having to add great deal of processing...

Most people haven't commented about it because they are listening to the track with dance music ears, and dance music is heavily compressed, but if an acoustic rock person were to hear it, he'd have to agree that the track is too compressed for the genre, or compressed with the wrong settings.

The track is great don't get me wrong, but the vocals just don't go. Autotuned tech vocals never mixed well with laidback acoustic rock, and probably never will...If you wanna keep the acoustic feel and the techy vocals, I'd suggest listening to Top40 radio. Usually in the techy vocoder verses, you'll hear a synthpop type of beat, and when the natural chorus comes on, the track switches to instruments that rely on live musicians...

The delay effects on the vocals are extremely superfluous... Why did you put them?

A metronome is extremely key when producing any kind of remix especially to an EDM track. The vocals seem to dodge the time of the track... I know you were trying to be realistic, but in this case you should have stuck to a locked computer time. In a live band session, the vocalist must always follow what the players are doing, when they slow down, he/she must slow doing their singing as well, same goes with speeding up, so must the players fit with what the vocalist is singing... This interdependance the players and singers have among each other is what makes a good band. What I hear here sounds like if the vocalist is doing her time, and you're just doing yours. Remixing is as legitimate an artorm as playing in a band, you've gotta find that common ground between your music and the song you're remixing. You've got to put the original artist's vision into perspective as well as putting yours. Remixing isn't about taking a song and doing whatever you want to it, in an attempt to make your remix more important than the original song.

I don't see how an acoustic remix can be impossible for this song. I believe it can be done, but you've failed to see Delerium's perspective, that's why this track failed as a remix. Although would be great as an instrumental... or with original vocals for that matter.
