I'm so damn tired of people always complaining about others who use drugs. They're worse than those who actually DO use drugs in this scene. Drugs aren't necessarily bad, face the facts.

Smoke Crack.

Drugs are bad, mkay. Dude, fuk drugs, your reason to want to try them is stupid. I've seen enough morons screw themselves up on drugs. Stay clean, you ain't missing out on anything in my opinion.

Why is alcohol legal and drugs not? Because cocaine, pot, meth, heroin, etc are not distributed by large corporations with lobbists in Washington who can buy Congressmen.

So you're saying that drugs are illegal because law enforcement agencies get millions of dollars a year to 'prevent' illegal drug use, and if all drugs became legal, there'd be no reason for this extra funding??

That doesn't make any sense. The government could make billions more dollars a year if they legalised drug use. Think about it. How much money do they make on taxes on cigarettes?? If they legalised most other drugs, and taxed those, they could make so much more money than what they already do.

The only reason that cigarettes and alcohol are legal today is because they've been widely used for hundreds of years, without any knowledge that they had harmful long-term side effects. I've seen television commercials from the 1950's that actually advertise smoking cigarettes as good for you. It's only after the government has made so much money from selling them that they realised cigarettes had cancer-causing chemicals in them, but by that point, they were making so much money from them they couldn't just make it illegal. And of course, there were millions of people addicted to them as well.

So you're right when you say that it's all about money, but illegal drugs haven't remained illegal because the government can make money from them. Quite the opposite in fact. Enforcing the law with regards to drug use is costing them money, and it would be far easier for them to make it all legal and tax everything, making them millions of dollars a year.

So why don't they do that??

i took the DARE program, and it didnt do crap for me. just made me curious. if people are smoking weed, there's got to be a reason for it. i wonder what that reason is? that was going through my 11 year old head.

good question

i think its also tough to argue this when typically all illegal drugs are just grouped into the same category
while i wholeheartedly agree that many drugs such as opiates and cocaine should probably be illegal, or at the least highly regulated, its just very frustrating how hypocritical it is that alcohol and cigarettes are legal and commonly used. cigarettes are so ridiculously addictive, and they're absolutely terrible for you, short term and long term

also while xanax had a point that money figured into it, its definately not all about money by a long shot
they're taboo, simple as that
even if you can't prove anything's actually wrong with something, doesn't mean people won't want it legalized still
look at gay marraige

and again not only because of the money involved in alcohol and cigarettes, but both are almost universally accepted in our society

The same eyesore anti-drug billboard has been up in my neighborhood like a freaking disease for about 12 years now. The kids on the picture are dressed like they're from the 80's; makes sense. I remember being 12 or so and beginning to get curious because of that ad.

And the anti-drug ads on TV these days make me laugh. "You'll never forget who you hurt when you wanted to get high." Actually yea, you probably will, and if you don't, you'll just get more high to drown it out. And then the people you hurt will forget about it and so will you. Anyway... ...make your own choice dude. If you decide to do something, have fun and be safe.

same here
if anyone's gonna convince me, they can't just offer me one side of the argument and state its correct
cause there's always another side to it, and even if i trust the person telling me it i still wanna decide for my own
weed i had heard the pros and cons of before i tried it, but cigarettes i only ever heard the negatives
it kills your lungs, makes you smell, gets you addicted, blablabla
but then if thats true, why do so many people do it? (and i know its addictive, but still )
makes you feel great, thats why
dammit i want a cig now
