Damnit...I need to move back to Chicago already. I keep missing all the good shows. I've been wanting to see Hernan for a couple years now.

I just heard Hernan Cattaneo live @ Kiss FM100 (06/20/04). It's an older set, but I think it's great. So, I am planning on coming with some friends. Can't wait to hear Hernan live for the first time!

I'll be there but probably not until after 1:00 or so. I'm going out with some friends that aren't into EDM first and then meeting up with some other friends at Vision. I'll be at the usual spot, which I'm hoping is not by the stage like at G&D. Hope to see some of you there!

another solid night. i gotta say this was probably one of the better soundbar/vision weekends in a while. got there just before 1, and kyle was ripping it up. good to see the DJs back in the booth rather than on-stage. this was my first time seeing hernan and i've gotta say its def not going to be my last (in fact, seeing him again this friday in SF with farina and maybe again in miami ). hernan played some really dark stuff and the crowd ate it up. seamless transitions, everything blended together nicely. good-sized crowd with a nice vibe at first, then the crowd dwindled down pretty early around 345 (stage only had 3 or 4 people by this time). full godskitchen set-up with the floating logo above the dj booth and godskitchen sprawled above the stage, a few nitrous shots. lots of opportunities to take some nice pics and clips but i forgot my camera
whoever it was that IMd me, he put it very well - a very monotonous set from Hernan, opening was way cool and there was a Luke Chable (or Fair) track that I recognized from previous sets I've listened too and really liked that one, other than that it was all very much like Deep Dish.

Kyle spun a great set. I recall hearing a track Kyle dropped around midnight that James Holden has been hammering out in some of his recent sets. The name has slipped my mind, but it's such a wicked, tweaky kind of track which pretty much describes Kyle's set last night.
Hernan was decent. I have to agree with Aristronica, the opening tracks were cool. The rest of his set was dark, but nothing to rave about. The crowd was thin and there was plenty of room when Hernan stepped behind the decks. They repositioned some lights and fog machines as well as logo signs.
The bartenders need to quit price gauging too. My friends and I went to three different bartenders that charged three different prices for the same type of drink. The price increased at least $1.50 to $2.00 each time. Does the price of alcohol go up the later it gets to discourage people from drinking right up until close?
Sucks for those people that had to pay the crossover fee too in order to get into Vision Sky.
Oh well. I still had a great time. I think I saw D&GGirl, but I wasn't a 100% sure so I just let her be. She was with a group of friends, and I didn't want to bother her anyways.
Any pics or vids available?

I had the same thing at Soundbar the night before! The guy told me the price got raised from $4 to $6 for domestic bottles after a certain time, but I didn't believe him since I've never had that happen before. This was far into the night after many drinks,so I left $5 and told him to take the rest out of the generous tips I'd given earlier and walked off. I went to a different bartender next time and the price was back to $4. At Vision I've seen the price raised for really big shows, but it's always been consistent the entire night as far as I can remember.
Didn't make it to this show and don't know if I regret that or not since the reviews seem very mixed. Saw him once before and thought he was really good, though the set was more a bit more diverse than being described at this one.

I wasn't buying any drinks at Soundbar and I usually don't at Vision, but when I have they've been fairly consistent in pricing. I usually try and go to the same bartender and tip them well and they'll be more generous, at least in my experience.
