guys.. dj 2nd nature is nothing

a bit of trivia here - did you know he makes a LOT of remixes for ultimix records, which is basically a fisher-price dj promo service. 32 beats intro, 32 beats outro - no harmonics involved, just pre-made shit for your mixing pleasure

yes, i use funkymix when doing gigs for mobile shit (schools, events with people my age ) but that doesnt mean that i respect it

It has its place
Alongside the light jocks controls......

Any light jock worth his salt and wage knows the tunes anyway- so should have great fun messing with the visuals. Decent ones already do- to a limited extent.

Would be great if every track had a video- but for now thats not going to happen.

$100 he's won 30x more events than you (DJing)

I personally don't care about the music...I like any kind of music...I can say I like trance and classic rock and some rock the most...but I don't mind hip hop since it indeed is played...EVERYWHERE

I've done light work alongside DJs for fun, and it really is a lot of fun, as a DJ you can control the crowd with the music, but you can also do it with lights aswell, and yea, if you know the tunes being played, you can time things really well and make a killer buildup with the lights and then when the music hits you go nuts, my fav was the good ol strobe, it was a big basterd aswell, more like a mini Sun.

i broke down and actually watched that trash. How can he sleep at night knowing that he spent 90hrs making that trash? I love how he plugs himself in the middle and then the very end. As if the link of his own website wouldn't have been subtle enough. He very well may win cheezy dj competitions but the day he plays a crowd of thousands live without anything premade will be the day he earns some respect from the users of this board.

i love VJing. i wish more people would do it in club. it adds to the experience. music can be so much more than just sound when its a combination of light and colour and music. you can really lose yourself in the experience if its done well.

so what if its preprogammed? that guy probably put alot of hours in to make that short time on stage count. i respect anyone for doing that. lab4 to a large extent preprogram their live sets. they rehearse and theres alot of stuff thats organized in advance. they spend months to get a good set flowing. and every time ive seen them they have blown me away. and they never play the same set at the same venue twice.

i also believe this stuff can work extremely well in EDM. particularly using psychedellic type patterns and colours, and winamp AVS/GEISS type trippy coloured trails. synced and scratched with the music. and reacting to it. by god that would be amazing.

thats what i like about EDM, particularly hypnotic, old trance/psychedellic trance type music - in the right environment, surrounded by light and colour and sound (whether from a VJ, hallucinogenic drugs or a combo of both), the whole experience can be truly transcendant. if i were to ever perform live, thats the kind of experience i would shoot for.

Yea it does work really well, theres a festival/rave that happens here and its a 3 day event with afew thousand people, last year was a psy event and it was the best time I had last year, they didn't have DVJs but they had a VJ projecting a cinema size visual up onto the whole stage, with amazing shit going on, I really can't wait for it this year, I'll post some pics of the event in abit, and maybe one of the videos.

pics! videos! i hope they do stuff like this at the glade this year. the pioneer dvjs are stunningly expensive though. that said, the amount of trippy audio visual DVDs available at least in the uk is fairly high. would be great source material for an outdoor psychedellic journey. mwaha! wheres my protoculture cds?! i wanna play some psy

I agree totally! Too many of you all are hating on 2nd nature. I'd like to see you do what he does!

I wouldnt do what he does. Its not my thing. Just pure honesty here, thats all. I don't like it, and really do not see the point of it.
