thanks for all the help everyone!

When I started producing I knew nothing....absolutely NOTHING! I read the software manuals like a newb and kept looking on my computer screen till it all made sense. Then I just started playing around to see what sounds good and what doesnt. The only instruction I was given was from friends, people on the boards, and instruction threads in the production forums. I am not saying I am the next biggest trance producer or anything but I do know more than when I started. It just takes time and practice. You can learn whatever you want on your own through experience instead of going to school, as long as you really focus and use all the resources you can get.

Hit me up on aim.....I will tell you all about the progs that are available and what they do. I use fruity loops. I find it to be very user friendly and a good start for a newbie. Once you get the hang of that you can always merge to other programs or use them in conjunction. You dont need a suped up computer to learn basics. My comp aint top of the line but I work with it. When you want to start doing really complicated things and have tons of shit running at the same time then it will be time for you to upgrade to a better comp.

yea i've tooled around with the free fruity loops demo, which is the same program as the one you can buy, you just can't record or anything... only thing is, after i would layer like 3 or 4 sounds, and then try and play it... my computer would sound like it is going to explode!!
