we were disappointed that Sasha cancelled but also wanted to hear Zabiela, so we went.
not impressed at all with the club, the people and the sound system. when we got there, at around 11:30 or so, a group of guys were rushing out of the club screaming and fighting and threw one of those poles that hold the ropes in the entrance, onto the club's windows and broke two of them.
one of my friends didn't end up going and I was trying to sell her ticket in the line-up. every person in the line-up that I talked to and I told them that Sasha had cancelled, asked "Who's Sasha anyway?" (not that they knew who Zabiela was). This is about 5 people, that I talked to... I guess most people that were there weren't there for the music.
JZ's set was great though, for the little time that we got to hear. And was happy to see that people were into it and had their arms up in the air and stuff. I agree that it's pretty poor decision making, to have James open up and whoever that was, to play all night... We left shortly after JZ's last track.
We had a good time though, good Tuesday night out.
Last time I saw him was at ARIA a couple of months ago and was treated to a proper set. Looking forward to another one of those. Surely in Miami.
Sasha holds a special place with me (6 yr history of great music), but James has moved up quickly and is definitely up there on my list of great flow and great DJ'ing all around.
